Acrylic, Oil Pastel, Water Soluble Pastels and Collage were used for this piece on panel. Collaged strips of paint on newsprint were employed to help form the rocky structures. The piece was inspired by the High Peak area of the Peak District; an area not too far from where I live. I wanted to to capture the moodiness and drama of the area so the work was executed very spontaneously using large palette knives and brushes.

An abstracted, textural impression of a black jug of pink and red poppies and red apples. I worked wet in wet through much of the painting, mixing paint on the surface of the painting itself to create rich and interesting passages of colour.
