Statement
As a London Award-winning artist, I've earned recognition in both landscapes and portraiture. Recently, I've shifted my focus to exploring the human condition and identity, creating over 30 works inspired by my mother's journey with vascular dementia. I've also depicted themes of cancer, resilience, and baby loss in my portraiture.
My painting career began in 2018, deeply influenced by the devastating wildfires in California. This led me to organise a three-month solo art exhibition in 2019 to raise funds for the Red Cross. In the summer of 2022, I held another exhibition in the SFO Bay Area, focusing on global warming.
I've drawn inspiration from the narratives of artists like Frida Kahlo, the intense and dramatic landscapes of John Martin, and the large-scale, emotive portraiture of Colin Davidson.
My work delves into the psychological and emotional states of my subjects, as well as their physical being. I aim to create art that prompts viewers to question, reflect, and empathise, while also being captivated and moved by the narrative.
