This is taken from a series of photos taken in a restaurant in Tromso in Norway on a trip to see the Northern Lights. The Northern Lights appear green in a photo but to the eye are much paler, even white. The woman is not real, only a reflection. The Northern Lights aren't as we see them with our eyes. This painting is about unreality and image

The juxtaposition of all the objects in the shop with the fractured images of the people on the bench outside opposite was intriguing. It was a complicated image to paint but very enjoyable.
