Fascinated by people, Sharon Low | Liu Guo Fei explores the love and joy found in childhood, play and memory. She is particularly drawn to the relationships between children, family, friends, and the way personal histories are carried through simple yet often profound moments of connection. 

Printmaking is her main process and language, underscored by a foundation in drawing and painting, where the tactile quality of ink on paper becomes a tool for storytelling. Working mostly in black or dark ink with minimal colour, she creates pared-back, graphic images that distil experience into its most essential marks on paper. 

Sharon Low | Liu Guo Fei seeks to describe the ways in which memory, imagined and real experiences intertwine, leaving deeply emotional marks and markers over time. Through her work, I aim to create images that feel both familiar and intangible, evoking reflection and emotional connections.

Sharon Low | Liu Guo Fei holds an MA (Fine Art, Printmaking) from Camberwell College of Arts, University of the Arts, London (UAL), and the Courtauld MA (History of Art) from the Courtauld Institute of Art, University of London. 

Other studies in the UK include the Diploma in Portraiture from The Heatherley School of Fine Art, life painting and drawing at the Slade School of Fine Art, University College, London (UCL), bookbinding and artist books at the Camberwell College of Arts, the City Literary Institute and Morley College. She has also studied in Japan in washi making (Japanese papermaking) and mokuhanga (Japanese water-based woodblock printmaking) in Japan.  

Prior to moving to London, Sharon Low | Liu Guo Fei was an artist, graphic and web designer, illustrator, and art and music teacher in Australia, where she studied Fine Art at the National Art School in Sydney, English literature and Education at the University of New England, music education at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
